Get Started Guide
Hopper Quest is a twelve-mission STEM curriculum designed by FTW Robotics to blend drone piloting, coding, and real-world problem-solving for after-school programs. The modular series strengthens technical fluency and 21st-century skills through hands-on challenges mirroring industries like logistics and emergency response.
What Students Learn
Computer Science: Students master sequencing, loops, functions, and debugging to optimize code efficiency.
STEM & Engineering: The curriculum covers aerodynamics, the physics of motion, and the Engineering Design Process (EDP).
Workforce Readiness: Lessons emphasize safety protocols, equipment maintenance, and systematic risk management.
Employability: Activities promote professional communication, leadership, and time management through career-aligned team roles.
What Students Do
Lesson Framework: Each 60-minute mission begins with an icebreaker followed by two 25-minute technical activities.
Structured Progression: Students complete three foundational lessons on setup and coding before moving into flexible, modular quests.
Hands-on Missions: Tasks range from unboxing and basic flight to complex synchronized drone shows and search-and-rescue simulations.
Reflection & Care: Every session ends with a group discussion and a formal drone inventory to ensure equipment longevity.
