Lesson 2

Students build precision and teamwork through three flight challenges—copying flight paths, landing on color‑coded pads, and navigating using Hopper’s camera—strengthening control, communication, and observation skills.

What Students Learn

Students learn how precision, observation, and communication shape successful drone flight. They explore how to follow and design flight paths, how color‑coded landing pads represent different tasks, and how to use Hopper’s camera feed to fly without direct line of sight. Through these activities, they deepen their understanding of controlled movement, sequencing, and collaborative problem‑solving.

What Students Do

Students begin with a teamwork icebreaker, then practice flying by copying a Wing Leader’s flight path and rotating leadership roles. They compete in a Recycle Relay, landing on specific colored pads to score points, and then use Hopper’s camera to identify and land on pads in sequence during Color Battle. Throughout the Quest, students take turns piloting, spotting, communicating instructions, and completing an end‑of‑lesson equipment inventory.
